Hi, I would love sharing my experience
How did it work for you?
It's worked fine, out of the box over the Laptop where I installed it an HP-635.
What were your first impressions?
My first impressions were absolutely positive, actually is Debian without systemd, my laptop always worked fine with sysvinit but not with systemd.
How can it be improved?
In my opinion Devuan should be put aside sysvinit and converging all the efforts on openrc, doesn't make any sense for me working above many init systems, using openrc means helping Gentoo too. If Devuan aims to have a primary role on the scenario must be strategic and opting for openrc so at least two main distros are using openrc and both can aims to be the reference for the desktop distro because eventually systemd revealed its nature as main controller to deploy cloud containerization which is not the primary purpose for a desktop distro.
Openrc is not a big jump far to systemvinit, not at all, so it's a naturally evolution and can be used on server side as well in containerization.
